Fit Local Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Fit Local (“we,” “us”) operates fit-local.com and the Fit Local mobile applications (the “Apps”). This policy describes what information we collect, how we use and share it, the choices you have, and how you can access, correct, or delete it. It applies to our website, our Apps, and related services (together, the “Services”).
Information we collect
- Waitlist and contact information. When you join the early-access waitlist or contact us, we collect the information you submit, such as your name and email address.
- Trainer application information. When you apply for a trainer profile, we collect the information in your application, such as your name, contact details, service area, certifications, and professional experience.
- Account and booking information. When the Apps are available to you, we collect the information needed to operate your account, profiles, messages, and bookings, including profile details, booking history, and messages exchanged with trainers or clients through the Apps.
- Fitness and health-related information. If you choose to share fitness goals, physical limitations, injuries, or similar health-related details (for example, in a booking request or message to a trainer), we collect that information in order to help match you with an appropriate trainer and facilitate your session. We treat this information as sensitive and do not use it for advertising.
- Location information. We collect approximate location (such as city or ZIP code) to show you relevant trainers and services near you. If you enable device location permissions, we may also collect precise location to power features like “trainers near me.” You can control location access through your device settings at any time.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our systems; we receive limited information such as transaction status and the last four digits of a card, as needed to operate the Services.
- Device and usage information. We use analytics tools to understand how the site and Apps are used, such as pages or screens visited, features used, crash and performance data, general device information (device type, operating system), and IP address.
- Information from cookies and similar technologies. We and our service providers use cookies, mobile advertising identifiers, and similar technologies as described in “Cookies, analytics, and tracking” below.
How we use information
- To operate the platform: profiles, search, matching, messaging, booking, and payments.
- To communicate with you about the waitlist, your account, your bookings, and support requests.
- To personalize your experience, such as showing trainers near your location or matching trainers to your stated goals.
- To improve the product, including analytics on how the site and Apps are used, and to maintain the security, integrity, and safety of the Services (for example, fraud prevention and abuse detection).
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share personal information only in the following ways:
- Service providers. With companies that help us operate the platform, such as hosting, analytics, customer support, email delivery, and payment processing. These providers may only use the information to perform services for us.
- Trainers and clients. With the trainer or client involved in a booking you initiated, as needed to complete that booking (for example, sharing your name, contact details, and booking details with the trainer you book).
- Legal and safety reasons. Where required by law, legal process, or government request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fit Local, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy or provide comparable protections.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
The site and Apps use privacy-respecting analytics to measure traffic and usage and improve the experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can control mobile analytics and advertising identifiers through your device’s privacy settings (for example, iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or Android Settings > Privacy > Ads).
We do not use data collected from the Apps to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for targeted advertising, and we do not share your data with data brokers. Because of this, the Apps do not request App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS. If this changes, we will update this policy and request your permission as required.
Your choices and rights
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at the address below. We will respond as required by applicable law.
- You can delete your account directly; see “Account and data deletion” below.
Additional rights for California and other US state residents
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have additional rights, including the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and why.
- Delete personal information we have collected from you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or “share” of personal information, and limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
You can exercise these rights by contacting us at the address below. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not currently operate a separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link; if that changes, we will add one and will honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC).
International users
If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your country.
Account and data deletion
You can delete your Fit Local account and associated personal data at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed:
- In the app: Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account, and confirm.
- On the web (no app required): Submit a request at fit-local.com/delete-account or by emailing us at executive@fit-local.com.
Once you submit a verified deletion request, we will delete or de-identify your account data (including profile information, booking history, messages, and location data) within 30 days, except where we are permitted or required to retain certain information for security, fraud-prevention, or legal and regulatory compliance purposes, as described in “Data retention” below.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it. For example, we may retain limited transaction records for accounting and legal-compliance purposes even after an account is deleted.
Data security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
Fit Local is not directed to children, our Apps are not listed in a children’s category on Google Play or the App Store, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or, consistent with our Terms of Use, we do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to create an account). If we learn we have collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, we will delete it. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar applicable laws.
Google Play and Apple App Store disclosures
Google Play
Per Google Play policy: “All apps must post a privacy policy link in the designated field within the Play Console, and a privacy policy link or text within the app itself. The privacy policy must, together with any in-app disclosures, comprehensively disclose how your app accesses, collects, uses, and shares user data, not limited by the data disclosed in the Data safety section.”
In accordance with this requirement, Fit Local publishes the URL of this Privacy Policy in the designated field of the Google Play Console and links to it from within the Fit Local apps. This Privacy Policy, together with the in-app notices shown when data is collected (such as permission prompts), is intended to comprehensively disclose how the Fit Local apps access, collect, use, and share user data. The Play Console’s Data safety section is a short, standardized summary for the store listing; it does not replace, and is not limited by, the fuller disclosures in this Privacy Policy.
Apple App Store
Fit Local likewise provides a link to this Privacy Policy in App Store Connect and within the Apps in an easily accessible location. The “App Privacy” details (“nutrition label”) we submit to Apple describe the categories of data collected by the Apps and are kept consistent with the practices described in this Privacy Policy. As stated above, we do not use the Apps to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and the Apps do not request App Tracking Transparency permission.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you (for example, by email or an in-app notice).
